Ashley Hewitt lives in South Carolina (SC), but she is a devoted Indiana Pacers fan. Ashley Hewitt counts Pacers superstar Paul George as one of her favorite players. After suffering a serious leg injury in 2014, George has rebounded to once again become one of the best players in the NBA.

Paul George joined the Indiana Pacers in 2010 and quickly established himself as an important part of the team. Over his first three years in the league, he emerged as one of the top all-around players in the NBA and a perennial All-Star. However, during an intrasquad scrimmage for the U.S. national team in August 2014, George suffered a gruesome compound fracture to his lower left leg after a collision with James Harden. The injury required two surgeries and intensive rehab, keeping him off the court for most of the season. In February 2015, he returned for his first full practice with the Pacers.

In April of 2015, eight months after his injury, George returned for his first game to a hero’s welcome. Over 18,000 fans celebrated his return against the Miami Heat, which included 13 points in 15 minutes of action in a game that the Pacers won, 112-89.
